At first it was mainly bright graphic design and even louder words that made “Strike Germany” a household name. It was not known who had signed the call to boycott German cultural institutions because of Germany’s Israel policy. Then the initiators – still anonymous – published the list of around 1,000 signatories. And a world-famous supporter was found there in the person of the writer Annie Ernaux.
