Anne Will quits: looking at her life and career

For many years she owned the slot on Sunday evenings after “Tatort”: Anne Will shaped the television landscape with her own talk show. After 16 years she is now quitting. On December 3, 2023, the 57-year-old will host her talk format for the last time. Guests include Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck and writer Navid Kermani. The theme of the program is: “The world in disorder – is Germany up to the challenges?”

Anne Will always seemed to be up to any challenge. After her studies, she volunteered at the broadcaster Freies Berlin and moderated her first programs. It was a milestone when she became the first woman to present the “Sportschau” in 1999. The next career step followed in 2001 with the “Tagesthemen”. Finally, in 2007, she got her own talk show, which started on Sundays, then ran on Wednesdays and finally became a regular fixture on Sunday evenings again.

Anne Will ends her talk show

“I have always really enjoyed doing the show and am infinitely grateful for the trust in my journalistic work and the great success of our show,” said the 57-year-old when it was announced that she was quitting at the end of the year. What exactly Will will do in the future is not yet known. She just said: “A new start is in order in 2024! Then there will be time for change, other projects, new perspectives.”
