Anne-Laure de Chammard at Siemens Energy – Economy

Anne-Laure de Chammard once wanted to be an opera singer. Instead, she studied mechanical engineering, today she has one of the toughest jobs at Siemens Energy. A conversation between opera and energy transition.

Let no one say that Italian operas are boring. Outdated, fallen out of time. Or that this is a male-dominated genre. It’s not like that, and sometimes it even gets down to business. There is the drama about the Ethiopian king’s daughter Aida, who is taken to Egypt as a slave. Or the dramatic story of proud Turandot, who gives her admirers three riddles and has them beheaded if they don’t get the princess’ quiz right, which of course happens quite often. All in all, hard stuff that the great Italian composers Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini treat here in their arias.
