A story that continues to pursue her. This Wednesday, Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris, announced through a Press release having asked his lawyer, Me Patrick Klugman, to “seize the judicial authority for defamation” after the publication of an article in the magazine Interview.
In its latest issue, the celebrity magazine reveals a file devoted to the councilor. In addition to the publication of a satisfaction survey commissioned from Ifop by the owner of the magazine, the results of which turned out to be unfavorable to the mayor of Paris, Interview announced that it had sent reporters to Tahiti “in the footsteps of Anne Hidalgo” with a flashy headline: Did the mayor of Paris go to Polynesia for her daughter’s wedding with taxpayer money?
A “false” article and a misleading photo, according to Anne Hidalgo
In her press release, the mayor of Paris describes the article as “untruthful” and “categorically denies the slanderous and false allegations” regarding the supposed marriage of her daughter in Polynesia and her presence in Moorea. In addition, the press release denounces the presence of a misleading photo on the front page of the magazine. Although adorned with a flower necklace suggesting that it was taken in Polynesia, it would have, according to the Paris town hall, been taken at Paris Plage in 2023.
And because there is never enough, the Paris town hall argues that the publication of the magazine “is accompanied by a wild poster campaign in the streets of Paris”, an illegal activity and “punishable for an administrative fine of 1,500 euros per poster.”
Anne Hidalgo’s trip last October had already sparked controversy after its revelation by The chained Duck by its objective, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, its carbon footprint and the cost estimated at nearly 60,000 euros.
