Anne Gellinek becomes the new presenter at ZDF’s “heute-journal”.

The experienced journalist Anne Gellinek will occasionally moderate the “heute-journal”. She replaces Bettina Schausten.

Anyone tuning in to the “heute-journal” tomorrow, Thursday (August 18), will experience a new moderator on the ZDF news program. The renowned journalist Anne Gellinek (60) will “occasionally” moderate the program in the future, as the Mainz broadcaster announced. She replaces Bettina Schausten (57). Together with Gundula Gause, Gellinek will also present the “heute-journal” on the three following evenings.

Anne Gellinek becomes the new deputy editor-in-chief of ZDF

The staff carousel also rotates behind the scenes. In addition to her job as a moderator, Gellinek will also be the main editor-in-chief of current affairs and deputy editor-in-chief of ZDF from October 1st. In doing so, she succeeds Bettina Schausten, who in turn is promoted to editor-in-chief of the station and replaces Peter Frey (65), who is retiring.

Anne Gellinek has been head of the ZDF studio in Brussels since 2015 and has been working for ZDF as a reporter and correspondent from home and abroad for 30 years now. From August 22, Marietta Slomka (53) will lead the show again. The following week, regular moderator Christian Sievers (53) greets the viewers.
