Almost a week after being scraped in a women’s clinic, GNTM model Anna Wilken contacts her fans – and talks about her emotions during the miscarriage.
It’s an enormously emotional topic, but that’s exactly why Anna Wilken doesn’t shy away from making it public on her Instagram profile. She wants to create more reality on the platform, as she says herself.
Anna Wilken talks about her scraping
Only a week ago did she explain the circumstances of her miscarriage. “A ‘missed abortion’ means a restrained miscarriage. The embryo / fetus is no longer viable but remains in the uterus,” she wrote.
Now the model has spoken again on Instagram after being scraped in a women’s clinic. “Now I’m here, at a point I didn’t want to come back to. Still, I’m glad that I made a big step,” Wilken begins her post. She had a curettage (scraping) performed in a clinic. This involves surgically removing the mucous membrane from the cervix or the body of the uterus. “The 9th December was intense, full of feelings, with a few tears, but also gratitude and a little bit of relief,” she says. “I went into the operating room crying, fell asleep crying, with the strong thought of letting go of our light, letting go,” she continues.
Openly dealing with endometriosis and miscarriage
Wilken has had endometriosis for years, which makes pregnancy difficult. Uterine disease is one of the leading causes of female infertility, affecting around five to 15 percent of all fertile women. In the past few years, Wilken gave everyone a voice, wrote in her book “As a rule, I am strong” about their struggle with the disease.
It is important for them to talk about the subject. Just as about miscarriages or an operation such as scraping. “No woman should have to go through it all alone, no woman should have to hide this pain,” she wrote in her most recent post.
