Anna-Maria Zimmermann’s marriage was about to end

The pop singer reveals private problems. Anna-Maria Zimmermann and her husband almost broke up.

18 years ago, Anna-Maria Zimmermann became known through the talent show DSDS. Then she started as a pop singer and is still successful on stage today. On Instagram, the 34-year-old regularly lets her fans take part in her everyday work. But Anna-Maria Zimmermann also shares private recordings with her almost 100,000 followers from time to time.

They show a happy family life with husband Christian Tegeler and their sons. The singer has been married to the Austrian chef since January 2015. At the end of the same year, the two became parents for the first time. Sepp followed Matti in July 2020.

But Anna-Maria Zimmermann’s reality did not look as healthy as the Instagram world at times. The singer revealed to broadcaster RTL that her marriage was almost broken by the pandemic. “We had a hard time. If Corona had been half a year longer, I don’t know if we would still be a couple today,” said the 34-year-old as part of a fundraiser for the “Night of the German Schlager” in Mexico.

“Like Trapped in a Cage”

She and her husband are “living people” and “professionally always positioned in such a way that our relationship works well because everyone does their job”. The pop star flies regularly to Mallorca and has performances in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Christian Tegeler also travels a lot as a restaurateur.

But the freedom that the two would enjoy was no longer available at the peak of the pandemic. Although they live with their children in a house with a large garden, they felt “like being trapped in a cage,” Anna-Maria Zimmermann describes in retrospect.

However, the “hard time” seems to be over now. The couple traveled to Mexico together and beamed side by side. The 34-year-old emphasized that she really enjoys that her husband accompanies her on the fundraising trip. “Now we’re finally going on a trip for two, we haven’t done it for a long time,” she said happily.
