On May 24th, her successor will be sought in the “Let’s Dance” final: How did Anna Ermakova fare after her victory?

Anna Ermakova (24), the daughter of Boris Becker (56) and Angela Ermakova (56), sat down with dance partner Valentin Lusin (37) in the big “Let’s Dance” final against Julia Beautx (25) and Philipp Boy in May 2023 (36) and won the dance cup. In total, Ermakova received the jury’s highest score eleven times – a record for the show. How did she feel after the victory?

“Let’s Dance” loyalty and jury job

Afterwards she was not only able to celebrate completing her art history studies at the Courtauld Institute of Art. She went on the “Let’s Dance” live tour and again on the “Let’s Dance” stage for a guest appearance in the new season’s introductory show. With her victory, the 24-year-old also landed her very first TV jury job: “Being part of ‘Das Supertalent’ is like an accolade for me,” she explains in the RTL interview. “Through my participation in ‘Let’s Dance’, I know exactly what it feels like to be a candidate on such a show. I’ve learned to always believe in myself and never give up.” In addition to Dieter Bohlen (70), Bruce Darnell (66) and Ekaterina Leonova (37), she named the 17-year-old Alexander Doghmani “Super Talent 2024” in mid-February.

Ermakova, on March 22nd celebrated her 24th birthday, said on her special day on Instagram that she was “extremely grateful for the best year of my life.” It “went by in a flash and when I think about how far I’ve come since last year, it makes little Anna proud.” She never thought “that dreams could come true,” but through “Let’s Dance,” “Das Supertalent” and the release of her new album “Behind Blue Eyes,” she feels “that I’m finally finding ways to express myself “Putting a smile on people’s faces doesn’t mean I take the support of my friends, my mom and you for granted and I really appreciate it.”

Singles, album, music performances

On January 12th she released her first single “Behind Blue Eyes”. It is a cover of the song by the British rock band The Who, which has already been successfully re-released by the US band Limp Bizkit, among others. With lines like “No one knows what it’s like to be a sad girl behind blue eyes” or “… but my dreams are not that empty”, Ermakova, who has blue eyes, deliberately chose the song to tell her personal story.

As the illegitimate daughter of tennis legend Boris Becker and because of Becker’s headline-grabbing affair with Ermakova’s mother, it was not easy for her “to grow up with all the press hype about the intimate details of my parents’ meeting without my perspective or my feelings on the matter really being taken into account since I was a small child,” she told the “Bild” newspaper. Some of the song lyrics give an insight “into some of my more vulnerable, intimate feelings,” Ermakova continued. She hopes that she will be judged on her creative work and not on her family history.

She brought the music to TV again: In March 2024, she appeared on Florian Silbereisen’s (42) Saturday evening show “The Big Hit Surprise”. “I am so grateful for this opportunity, dear Florian, and as a thank you I have brought you a little surprise,” announced Ermakova, taking a seat with Silbereisen on a white bench with atmospheric lantern lighting. Ermakova then sang the classic “Something Stupid.” Silbereisen sang the passage “I love you” in the chorus. The two even performed a sweet dance routine on stage. She also performed her new version of “Son of a Preacher Man” from her upcoming album “Behind Blue Eyes.” In April and May she released further singles, “You Spin Me Round” and “Somebody to Love”, and the debut album is scheduled for release on August 9th.

And what about her private life? “We are no longer together,” Ermakova confirmed to RTL in June 2023 that the relationship was over. Her ex-partner and she were a couple for four years. Since then nothing has been known about a new man at her side. In an interview with the magazine “Bunte” in January 2024, she gave an amused answer as to whether she would even have time for a new love given her professional workload. “So funny, everyone is asking me that right now. If the right person comes along, there will be room for him,” Ermakova is certain.

She doesn’t have a specific type of man. “What’s important is personality and that I feel understood. But I’m not looking,” she stresses, adding: “I’m happy with my life as it is, even though my best friends, who I’ve known since elementary school, are all in committed relationships. So I firmly believe that it will work.”
