Soccer national player Ann-Katrin Berger is suffering from thyroid cancer again. The Chelsea goalkeeper made this public on Instagram.

Soccer goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger has again suffered from the thyroid gland. “I wanted to let my fans know straight away that after four years without cancer, unfortunately my thyroid had recurred,” the 31-year-old wrote on her Chelsea club’s website in London and on Instagram.

She works closely with the club doctor and a specialist in London. “I’m confident my treatment will be just as effective as last time and I look forward to getting back on the pitch and seeing you all at Kingsmeadow and Stamford Bridge,” said Berger. Chelsea FC promised her full support.

Four years ago, Ann-Katrin Berger recovered quickly

Berger was diagnosed with thyroid cancer for the first time in November 2017. After an operation the following month, she was back on the pitch in early 2018.

Berger was in the German squad at the European Championships in England in July, but was not used. She was not listed in the squad for the second place in the European Championship for the two remaining qualifying games for the World Cup in early September. The German Football Association (DFB) gave private reasons for her absence on Tuesday afternoon.
