Lion cubs baptized in Leipzig Zoo
Four lion cubs were born at the Leipzig Zoo at the beginning of July. Now they have their names.
Four months after their birth, the lion cubs at Leipzig Zoo were given names. The three male animals are called Amaru (strong, determined), Baha (the luck) and Themba (hope), as the zoo announced. A name had already been found for a young lioness; her name is Malu (the untamed one).
The quartet was born on July 5th in the Leipzig Zoo. Since the father of the offspring, male lion Majo, died before the cubs were born, lioness Kigali is raising the offspring alone. The four little lions are always scurrying around Kigali and can be seen daily in the outdoor area or in the lion cave, the zoo said.
