Elephants, bears, deer and many other mammals significantly expanded their range of movement in spring 2020. Some even explored the deserted streets of big cities.
Golden jackals in Tel Aviv, pumas in Santiago de Chile and wild goats in the Welsh coastal town of Llandudno: During the corona lockdowns, wild animals were suddenly sighted in various parts of the world in places where people had previously been almost exclusively. The animals seemed to take advantage of Homo sapiens’ sudden absence to explore new territories.
