Angry farmers. In Aubusson, strong actions to denounce the importation of foreign products

This Friday, January 26, for this fourth day of mobilization, Creuse farmers carried out striking actions in Aubusson to target products of foreign origin.

This Friday, January 26, Creuse farmers have decided: this fourth day of mobilization will be devoted to targeting products of foreign origin.

On this roundabout near Aubusson, they stop truckers to check their cargo. They are looking for foreign consumer products, sold in France. “We check the refrigerated trucks to check the origins and see where things are going, and to find out if there are a lot of foreign products entering our territory. The government talks about food sovereignty, but in stores we see a lot of foreign products“, deplores a demonstrator.

After numerous checks, nothing to report. The farmers decide to lift the barrier to move towards several large areas of Aubusson. An operation organized by the Rural coordination of Creuse (CR 23). Once again, foreign products sold in France are targeted.

Look, for this cooked dish, we have the origin of the pork, which is French, but on this one, we have no French flag on the packaging and it says that the chicken comes from the European Union . But even if it says European Union, it could come from Ukraine or Turkey so that’s why we take these products out of the store.”explains Florian Tournade, president of CR 23.

Earlier, there were grapes from Peru. Don’t we produce grapes in France? These products don’t even meet European environmental standards, supermarkets sell them and we’re dying!

Symbolically, products whose origin is not specified fill the shopping carts. No waste, they will remain in the store, the aim being to temporarily exclude them from the shelves to raise awareness among large retailers and the population.

Before leaving, the demonstrators left a trace of their passage, dumping a pile of tires in front of the entrance to the supermarket, to express their discontent.

In Corrèze too, many striking actions took place, such as a free shopping cart operation in a supermarket in Ussel.

In addition to the removal of the tax on non-road diesel (GNR) and fair remuneration for farmers, the end of free trade agreement negotiations with South America, Mercosur, is in fact one of the demands of this protest movement.
