“And Just Like That”: Sex and the City continued on Sky Media

Getting older in style, understanding the seriousness of the situation with a joke – there is again a lot to discuss in “And Just Like That”, the sequel to “Sex and the City” on Sky.

It is the autumn of comebacks in the entertainment industry, with Abba and Adele, with Kerkeling, Gottschalk and with the FDP. Because the acute present doesn’t seem to promise anything other than new hit singles from the same virus, the gaze likes to go back. Also to the time at the end of the nineties, when downright obscene egomania, hedonism and consumer harmlessness reigned. Nowhere are these amusements from urban clamshell phone owners more lovingly documented than in the HBO series Sex and the City (1998), the generation’s NYbelungen saga Cosmopolitan. The announcement of a sequel, twenty-three years after the first season, raised hopes that 2021 could at least get another nice footnote.
