The creators of the series “And Just Like That…” are considering a second season. Leading actress Sarah Jessica Parker still wants to do without ex-colleague Kim Cattrall.

US actress Sarah Jessica Parker can imagine a sequel to the series “And Just Like That…” – but still without Kim Cattrall. When asked if she would be okay with Cattrall reprising her role as Samantha Jones, the 56-year-old told the US magazine “Variety”: “I don’t think I would be”. As a reason, she cited the many public expressions of emotion from her former colleague. What exactly she meant by that, she left open.

Cattrall liked a tweet following the release of the new series And Just Like That… in December, in which one user wrote, “Kim Cattrall hasn’t returned to ‘SATC’ because her career is finally taking off.” Another user wrote that he was “such a fan” of hers and applauds her for “making the right decision”. Cattrall also liked this tweet. Just like the comment of a journalist who wrote: “Sometimes it’s good when an era comes to an end.”

Officially, the new edition has not yet been extended – according to “Variety”, however, screenwriter Michael Patrick King and the broadcaster HBO Max are said to be interested in it. Most recently, however, the series was also overshadowed by abuse allegations against Mr. Big actor Chris Noth.

Reports of dispute between Cattrall and Parker

Kim Cattrall has repeatedly stated that she never wants to return to the Sex and the City franchise. Problems with her co-stars were said to be the main reason for this. Parker, on the other hand, has denied any suggestion that she and Cattrall were fighting. In addition to the 56-year-old, the new series also stars “Sex and the City” stars Kristin Davis as Charlotte and Cynthia Nixon as Miranda.

In “And Just Like That…” it was revealed in the first episode that Samantha moved to London to work. It was also revealed later in the series that her “pride was hurt” after Carrie had to fire her as a publicist. Still, Samantha was always present. She and Carrie communicated several times via text message.

Parker said in the interview: “Samantha is not gone. Samantha is present and I think it was handled with such respect and elegance. She was not made the bad guy. She is a person who has feelings in a relationship had, so I think we found a way to deal with that – which was necessary and important for people who loved her.”
