The 96th Academy Awards take place on Sunday March 10, 2024.

OSCARS – The 96th Oscars 2024 ceremony takes place this Sunday, March 10 in Los Angeles. Between the sketches and the appearances on the red carpet, the evening is, let’s not forget, dedicated to cinema and the films which marked the year which has just passed. After the phenomenon Everything Everywhere All At Once which was a huge success last year, which feature film will prevail this time?

There are some favorites: Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan’s feature film dedicated to the father of the atomic bomb has 13 nominations. Another film well represented in 11 different categories: the film Poor Creatures of Yorgos Lanthimos, a sort of feminist Frankenstein who has already earned Emma Stone a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice Awards. The French film (and the Palme d’Or at the last Cannes festival): Anatomy of a fall by Justine Triet has five nominations and could make history by becoming the first French-language film to win the Oscar for best film.

And as sometimes the Oscars are a bit David against Goliath, in 2024 there are also some outsiders. This is the case for independent films The Holdovers Or Winter Break which has 5 nominations in total.
