An NPC in Diablo 4 rips you off badly, demands several million if you have leveled too far

In Diablo 4 there are not only mounts, but also cosmetic saddles. You can put these on your horse and look smarter. One of these can be purchased from the Stable Master, but will probably cost you around 6 million gold. But if you pay that much, you are making a big mistake.

What kind of saddle is that?

  • Saddles are cosmetic items that you can use to personalize your mount. You can get them in the shop and you can also find and buy them in the game.
  • You can get a saddle for in-game currency from an NPC, the Stable saddle. But it costs a lot of gold at the dealer.
  • As players have now discovered, you can get the saddle much cheaper (via Reddit). All you need is a low level character. We tested it.

Where can I get the saddle? You can get the saddle from the stable manager you trust. If you drop by the gameplay with your first character, you’ll see that the saddle costs you around 5-6 million gold.

However, there is a trick that you can use to really save money.

You unlock mounts and mounts with the quest “Donan’s Favor”. You can also watch the guide to the mount in the video:

There is a special price for new characters

How can I save when buying a saddle? If you want to buy the saddle cheaper, you simply have to create a second character. Don’t worry, you can skip the campaign if you’ve already completed it on your primary character. Then you can even ride directly.

Gold is account-bound, so you can use it for the second character’s saddle. After character creation, go to the saddle master, recognizable by the horse symbol on the map.

There you buy the saddle in his shop. You leave the shop and find the saddle in your inventory. You can then simply “use” it to add it to your gear.

If you now interact with the stable master again and call up your mount’s equipment, you will find the saddle and can equip your horse with it – for all your characters.

In short:

  • Create a new character
  • You spawn in Kyovashad
  • Go to the Stable Master (horse icon on the map)
  • Click on “Traders” at the top and then on “Mount Armor”
  • Buy the saddle
  • Open your inventory
  • Left click on the saddle
  • the saddle will be added to your equipment
  • if necessary: switch back to the menu and character
  • Talk to the stable master
  • Equip the saddle under “Stable”.

Fluctuating prices depending on the level

How expensive is the saddle then? The saddle costs around 7,000 – 11,000 gold for your second character. So far we have not been able to find out why the prices are so different.

We tested it on 3 accounts and 3 new characters, so they were all fresh at level 1, but we all had different prices. But whether it’s 7,000 or 11,000, all of that is way less than the 6 million gold you would have to pay with the leveled first character.

For characters who are at level 45-55, the saddle costs around 4 million gold – not that much less than the levels approaching 100.

By the way, changing the world level had no effect on the price for a character at level 81.

Can I ride with my new character? Yes. Unlike the first character, it is possible to ride directly. The campaign was skipped, you spawn in Kyovashad and can mount your mount with the Z key on the keyboard / with the D-Pad on the right of the controller.

All mounts and armor that you have acquired or received up to that point are also available to you. The disadvantage of the saddle is that it counts as full armor and cannot be worn on top of armor.

So whether you want to wear a saddle or one of the chic armor is up to you.

Concerning the equipment of the characters, MeinMMO editor Benedict recently had an insight:

I’m in the Diablo 4 endgame now and I’m more excited about “yellow” items than Legendaries
