The motive for the attack is unclear. On the stroke of 2:30 a.m., on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, a transgender woman, “transsexual” according to the police, who specified that she “engaged in prostitution”, was violently injured in the head by a man, boulevard Victor Hugo, in the center of Nice. He was placed in police custody for “violence with a weapon by destination because of the sexual orientation of the victim”, indicates the Departmental Directorate of Public Security (DDSP) of the Alpes-Maritimes.
The respondent, who was part of a group of four individuals, used a construction barrier that he found on the spot to hit the victim.
