An investigation into intentional homicide and triple attempted murder

A flagrant investigation for intentional homicide of a minor under the age of 15 and three attempted intentional homicides was opened by the Quimper prosecutor’s office after the shots fired on Saturday evening at four members of the same family in Plovenez-du- Faou (Finistère), between Quimper and Morlaix. An 11-year-old girl had died. His father is seriously injured and his mother injured a little more lightly. The younger sister, also targeted by the shots, is safe and sound.

The custody of the suspect, a 71-year-old neighbor of Dutch origin, was extended on Sunday evening. He had been arrested on Saturday evening after hiding at home with his partner.

“He had already made stories”

The alleged shooter “arrived three years ago and he does not speak to anyone. He had already made a fuss at the town hall, complaining about the noise, ”said a pensioner, direct neighbor of the victims, quoted by The Telegram. According to the Quimper prosecutor’s office, a conflict has allegedly opposed the suspect and the victims for several years over a plot of land adjoining the two properties.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the family was taking part in a barbecue in their garden at the time of the tragedy, around 9 p.m.
