An explosion completely blew the roof of a building, without injuring

Impressive damage, but luckily no casualties. Wednesday evening in Saint-Nazaire, a strong explosion occurred in an apartment building located rue du Menhir. A fire then broke out, very quickly extinguished by the thirty firefighters who intervened on the scene, shortly before 6:30 p.m.

According to the fire and rescue service, three people were examined but were not injured. The roof of this three-storey building was completely blown away. “The accommodations are uninhabitable until further notice for the eight people living in the building”, specify the firefighters, who remained on site for a good part of the evening to secure the site.

An investigation has been opened to find out more about the origin of the explosion. According to the newspaper West Franceit could be a gas leak.
