An 800 kg bomb will be neutralized at sea off Dinard

The machine weighs just over 800 kg. A German magnetic trigger bomb dating from the Second World War will be neutralized on Thursday by specialized mine clearance services near Dinard and Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine). The operation, scheduled between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m., will take place at sea, off the town of Saint-Briac-sur-Mer.

It will lead to the establishment of a large security perimeter on the water, as on the coast, monitored by the police. The bomb is currently 30 m deep, north of Agot Island. She had been discovered at the end of January by a ship from the Navy. It is the experienced crew of clearance divers from Brest who will take care of the delicate maneuver.
