An 11-year-old girl killed, her father between life and death. A couple of neighbors in custody

The tragedy occurred last night, Saturday June 10, around 9 p.m., in the hamlet of Saint-Herbot in the town of Plonévez-du-Faou in Finistère. The 11-year-old girl was killed by one or more gunshots during an altercation between her family and a neighbour.

When the Châteaulin gendarmes intervened on Saturday around 10 p.m. at a place called Saint-Herbot, between Plonevez-du-Faou and Loqueffret, they discovered an 11-year-old girl who had died. She was killed by one or more gunshots.

The gendarmes also discovered on the spot the father of the child, seriously injured. His vital prognosis is still engaged this Sunday afternoon. The mother of the family, she presented injuries not involving her vital prognosis.

The couple’s second child, 8, was found safe and sound, but in a state of shock.

According to the prosecutor of Quimper, it is an altercation with a firearm, between neighbors.

A pensioner, of Dutch origin, attacked this British family of four. The man allegedly appeared suddenly, armed, in his neighbours’ garden and opened fire several times on the family, before retreating to his home with his wife.

After the intervention of the negotiator of the gendarmerie and the GIGN, the suspect and his wife ended up surrendering. They were arrested around 11 p.m. and taken into custody.

“It’s incomprehensible”

A neighbor who knew the family of the deceased fillet, does not understand: “it’s incomprehensiblehe said. I knew this little girl’s family very well. The person suspected of having shot, has lived in the hamlet for three years, would not have much contact with his neighbors, according to him.

A flagrant investigation was opened by the Quimper prosecutor’s office on the counts of intentional homicide of a 15-year-old minor and attempted intentional homicides. It is entrusted to the soldiers of the research brigade of Châteaulin.
