After After an accident with five injured artists, the high-diving attraction “Retorno dos Piratas” in the Europa-Park in Rust near Freiburg is no longer shown. “The High Diving Show would only have run for three more weeks, so the guest performance will now end early,” said a spokesman.

A total of ten artists belong to the show. These are international athletes from Germany and France, among others, who are employed by a French company in Europa-Park.

On Monday, a pool of water in the largest amusement park in Germany ripped into which the acrobats jump. Jump towers attached to it collapsed. Two visitors also suffered minor injuries.

According to the park, the injured acrobats are women aged 18, 22 and 29 and a 24- and 50-year-old man. “One person was in the pool, another on the diving board and the rest of the artists on the small castle with the diving boards,” said the spokesman.

The swimming pool is a new acquisition that an external company built in May at Europa-Park, the spokesman explained. Similar incidents as on Monday are not known to the park.
