Update 8:50 p.m.: French international Aminata Diallo, indicted on Friday like four other people for “aggravated violence” and “criminal association”, was placed in pre-trial detention, suspected of being the sponsor of the attack on her former teammate at PSG Kheira Hamraouiagainst the background of sports rivalry.
“Madame Diallo wanted a deferred debate” before the judge of freedoms and detention, after her indictment, “and in the meantime she was temporarily imprisoned”, explained the Versailles prosecutor’s office in a press release.
The four other people prosecuted, born between 1999 and 2003 according to a source familiar with the matter, were also indicted on Friday for “criminal association” and “aggravated violence”. “All four implicate Mrs. Diallo (…) as being the sponsor of the violence, to allow her to occupy the position of the victim during future competitions”, explained the prosecution.
Among these four men, “three acknowledge their presence on the scene and indicate that they know the reason for their recruitment and their presence. The fourth man admits having struck the victim, ”says the prosecution. Two were imprisoned and the other two placed under judicial supervision.
Diallo has always denied being involved
All these arrests take place within the framework of an open judicial investigation for “criminal association” and “aggravated violence”. After the assault with an iron bar on Kheira Hamraoui, 32 years old and 39 selections in French teamthe hypothesis of a rivalry between the two PSG players, who play in the same midfield position, was initially considered.
Aminata Diallo and one of her friends, imprisoned in Lyon, had been placed in police custody but no charge had ultimately been brought against them. Aminata Diallo has always strongly contested being involved.
Hamraoui away from the group all season?
On November 4, 2021, Kheira Hamraoui was attacked with iron bars and beaten on the legs by two men, in front of Aminata Diallo, as they were driving home from a team dinner. The player was then taken to hospital.
Under contract with the Parisian club until June 2023, Hamraoui has been kept away from the professional group since the start of the 2022-2023 season. A situation that she had noted by an usher during a training session last week. Hamraoui intends to spend this season at PSG, which on the other hand does not count on her. “She is not part of PSG’s sporting projects and it will remain like that for the whole season,” said the club’s deputy sporting director, Sabrina Delannoy, last week.
