Christmas away from familiar surroundings in Los Angeles has long been routine for German-American football pros Amon-Ra and Equanimeous St. Brown.

Christmas away from familiar surroundings in Los Angeles has long been routine for German-American football pros Amon-Ra and Equanimeous St. Brown.

“It’s normal for me not to be in California for Christmas or with my family,” Equanimeous St. Brown told the German Press Agency. “I’ve been doing this for eight years now. It’s football season and Christmas is a minor thing,” said the 26-year-old Chicago Bears football pro, counting his time as a college player. He plays with the Chicago Bears against the Buffalo Bills on Christmas Eve at 12:00 p.m. local time (19:00 CET).

Equanimeous St. Brown at least has his German mother Miriam visiting. A joint dinner and a walk through the neighborhood to see the Christmas lights are planned.

His brother Amon-Ra St. Brown, who is three years his junior, plays away with the Detroit Lions at the Carolina Panthers (7:00 p.m. CET). After the return flight there will be dinner with his girlfriend, and then a meeting with some fellow players on December 25, his mother reported. Christmas is also a minor matter for him, but at least he has a Christmas tree in the living room.
