First come the Chiefs around Patrick Mahomes, then the badly shaken former champ New England Patriots. The NFL expects a lot from the double pack in Frankfurt.

NFLGermany boss Alexander Steinforth firmly believes that the upcoming two games in Germany will generate additional football enthusiasm.

The hosting of several regular-season games “led to a whole new hype among existing fans in Germany and also inspired many new fans of American football,” Steinforth told the German Press Agency. It premiered last year at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

This year, two games of the regular season will be played in Germany, both in the Frankfurt football stadium. On Sunday (3:30 p.m./RTL and DAZN) Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will meet the Miami Dolphins. A week later, the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts will play against each other on November 12th (3:30 p.m.).

Germany “sports-loving country”

When asked what was responsible for the football hype in Germany in recent years, Steinforth replied: “Germany is a very sports-loving country and has an extensive football history. In addition, the interest of those interested in sports is becoming more and more international. That Of course, we also notice the response from the fan community.”

The great tension also plays a role. “Any team can beat anyone and surprises always happen because of the mode. At the same time, the NFL has become a very popular TV event with a high level of entertainment,” said the official.
