The American army said on Tuesday that it had seized parts of Iranian-made missiles intended for Houthi rebels on a dhow (a traditional dhow used mainly for cabotage) in the Arabian Sea. This is the first seizure of lethal advanced conventional weapons (ACW) supplied by Iran to the Houthis since Houthi attacks on merchant ships began in November 2023
declared the central command of the American army (Centcom) in a press release.
This operation, supported by helicopters and drones, was carried out on January 11 by a team of commandos from the frigate USS Lewis. B. Puller. It made it possible to seize weapons including ballistic missile and cruise missile components
specified Centcom.
The missile parts were seized on board the dhow operated by a crew of 14 people who were arrested. The boat, considered dangerous, was sunk, the American army general staff said.
