AMC Cinemas, the largest cinema chain in the United States. It has offered to give away 86,000 NFT tokens to pre-ticket purchasers for “Spider-Man: No Way Home” on December 16.
This has received quite a high response among fans as it has led to the second highest single-day ticket sales in AMC history.
AMC has issued 86,000 NFT tokens, of which 100 are different. The company stated that ticket holders must redeem NFT by early March next year.
AMC also confirmed that the digital collection is “Eco-friendly” as it is built on the WAX blockchain:
“Spider-Man NFT will be redeemable at dedicated websites operated by WAX and is an energy efficient blockchain. with ultra-low carbon for the first time.”
Days after the promotion started, AMC CEO Adam Aron admitted that the offer made it the second-largest single-day movie ticket purchase in AMC history, with the record still held for “Avengers: Endgame” in 2019, surpassing “Spider-Man: No Way Home” by just 1.5%.
