A police officer in Amberg used his gun and shot a 34-year-old to stop him – the man is said to have previously hit the police vehicle with a massive rock in which a police patrol was sitting.
The police were called on Tuesday evening because the 34-year-old pedestrian wanted to damage a speedometer, the police said on Wednesday. When the patrol arrived at the scene, the man attacked the crew, who were still sitting in the patrol car. The 34-year-old took a boulder and hit the police vehicle with it. He first damaged the windshield and then attacked the passenger side. The driver of the patrol car finally stopped the man by shooting his arm out of the car.
The man came to a hospital. He is now being investigated, among other things, on suspicion of assaulting law enforcement officials.
