Johnny Depp’s bodyguard Travis McGivern has testified at Amber Heard’s trial. He tells of nocturnal fisticuffs and nasty insults.

A bodyguard has released new details in the court case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Depp’s longtime security man Travis McGivern told the jury on the witness stand about violent arguments between the ex-couple, which he had witnessed. One of those arguments at Heard’s Los Angeles penthouse culminated in her punching him in the face, said McGivern, who was videotaped in the courtroom.

The security guard told the court that the ex-couple had a violent argument on several occasions in March 2015 and that Depp called him late on several occasions to pick him up from Heard’s penthouse. On those occasions, Heard often tried to stop Depp from walking, stopped the elevator, or grabbed Depp’s arm.

Verbal abuse, Red Bull can, punch

Violent insults were apparently common. During one of those nightly arguments, Heard threw a Red Bull can at Depp and hit him in the back. She also spat on him. Depp ripped Heard’s clothes out of the closet and threw them on the floor. Both were very upset. McGivern stated he tried to protect Depp from physical violence. At some point, however, he saw a fist in the corner of his eye that shot over his shoulder and hit Depp on the left side of the face. It was Amber Heard’s fist. A red swollen area later developed on Depp’s face and the actor told him it was his fault for not protecting him. McGivern also says he never saw Depp hit back at Heard. He also reported that Depp smoked weed daily and took cocaine “a few times”.

McGivern’s testimony marked the start of the fourth week of trial in the former celebrity couple’s court battle. Last week, Depp’s bodyguard Malcolm Connolly also reported that Depp had suffered regular facial injuries during his time with Heard. Unlike McGivern, however, Connolly said he had never seen the two of them use violence against each other.
