Amazon presents new Kindle: same size, better resolution

Amazon has introduced its new Kindle. In one respect, the affordable e-book reader is now on par with the more expensive Paperwhite. the info.

Amazon is donating to its e-book reader Kindle a small update. Above all, the shipping giant is improving the resolution of its entry-level model. It is now 300 pixels per inch (ppi), putting it on par with the slightly more expensive Paperwhite. This means that the resolution of the new Kindle is about 44 percent sharper than that of its predecessor, which offers a display with 167 ppi.

Amazon is also doubling the memory of its entry-level model: instead of eight gigabytes (GB), bookworms can look forward to a total of 16 GB of internal memory in the future. At 154 grams, the Kindle 2022 will also be the lightest in its family. However, the 16 gram weight difference should hardly be noticeable in everyday use.

However, a nice feature of the Paperwhite will remain withheld from the new Kindle in the future: The color temperature of the new Kindle still cannot be adjusted. The Paperwhite is also slightly larger at 6.8 inches. After all, Amazon is now giving its entry-level model a USB-C port for charging its battery. Incidentally, according to Amazon, it lasts for up to six weeks.

From now on, interested parties can new Kindle preorder. The version with advertising costs 99.99 euros, without advertising friends of digital books shell out ten euros more. Amazon is currently selling its predecessor for EUR 79.99 (with advertising). The version without advertising is currently out of stock. Before pre-orderers can hold their new e-book reader in their hands, they still have to be patient. At the October 12th the Kindle will be launched in 2022.
