Young mother with baby did not return from a walk – police use a sniffer dog in the search

She wanted to go for a short walk with her little daughter – and never returned. The Police in Rhineland-Palatinate are looking for 19-year-old Aya Khalil and her three-month-old child.

According to previous investigations, the young woman left her apartment in the small town of Alzey near Worms with the baby at around 5 p.m. last Monday (July 3). The two have not been seen since then.

Aya Khalil is described as about 1.60 meters tall and with dark hair (see photo above). She wears a headscarf. At the time of her disappearance, she was said to be wearing a pink robe and carrying a dark-colored stroller. The little daughter has black hair about two inches long.

Just one hour after leaving for the walk, the two were reported missing, said a spokesman for the Worms police department in an interview with the star on Wednesday morning. He didn’t want to say by whom.

In the search for the missing person, a person tracking dog was used, among other things, and the criminal police were also involved in further investigations – so far without success. “We can’t rule anything out,” said the police spokesman. However: “We currently have no evidence of a crime.”

Officials are now turning to the public for information. “Due to the constellation of a missing woman with her baby, we decided relatively quickly to conduct a public search,” said the spokesman. Investigators ask: Who has seen the missing persons since they disappeared or can provide information on their whereabouts? As of Wednesday morning, no information had been received, it said.

The Worms police department will receive information about the whereabouts of the mother and her child on telephone number (06241) 8520 or any other police station.
