It would be the 34-year-old’s first World Cup victory since his triumph in Kvitjfell, Norway in March 2022. Second at this point in the race was Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and third was American Bryce Bennett. He had won the shortened downhill run in South Tyrol two days earlier.

The German athletes disappointed and all clearly missed the top ten. Andreas Sander is now in 17th place. Josef Ferstl (23rd), Thomas Dreßen (24th), Romed Baumann (26th) and Simon Jocher (27th) are even further back.
