Alpen Film Festival Bad Tölz: Interview with Tom Dauer – Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

Tom Dauer made a documentary about the 91-year-old mountaineer Hermann Huber. A conversation about the risk on rocks, respect for the forces of nature and what we can learn about freedom on the mountain.

Thanks to groundbreaking inventions such as the first industrially manufactured, adaptable crampon, Hermann Huber was one of the most influential Munich extreme climbers of his time. It would have been all the nicer if the 91-year-old, who lives in Munich and Gaißach, had been to the Alpen Film Festival in the Tölzer Capitol Kino could be a guest in person. At least that was the plan. However, due to the sharp rise in the number of corona infections, the date has been postponed to next year. In the new series of events with alpine short films, you can see Tom Dauer’s current, two-time award-winning documentary “Vom Wert der Zeit” about Huber’s life.
