Allgäu Alps: hiker falls 150 meters and survives – Bavaria

With two friends, the Swiss-based German traveled from the top of the Kanzelwand to the Hammerspitze on Friday. At 2,000 meters, the climber slipped on a gravel-covered slab of stone and lost her balance. She fell 150 meters over rocky terrain and was seriously injured.

The 53-year-old was rescued by mountain rescuers and a rescue helicopter and flown to the hospital in Feldkirch. She is now said to be out of danger.
