Allegation of training methods: Riding association is proceeding against Beerbaum

After more than a year of investigation, the disciplinary commission of the German Equestrian Federation (FN) has dropped the proceedings against the show jumper Ludger Beerbaum. This was announced by the association.

According to a TV report from the “RTL Extra” program, the commission investigated whether illegal training methods had been used in the Beerbaum barn.

“There is no evidence that the horse was inflicted with significant pain in the video sequence on which the procedure was based,” the statement said.

The public prosecutor’s office in Münster had previously discontinued preliminary proceedings against the four-time Olympic champion on allegations of a criminal offense under the Animal Welfare Act. There is insufficient suspicion, the statement said in September last year.
