What was previously only withheld from verified and large accounts can now be shared by all users on Instagram: link stickers. We reveal here how you can use the new function.

All Instagram users can now share links in their stories. The social network announced on Wednesday. Previously, only accounts that were verified or had a certain number of followers could use the function.

With the link stickers, websites can be linked in stories, which open by clicking on them. The link stickers introduced in August have replaced the swipe-ups with which users could previously link external websites in their stories.

Positive feedback for link stickers

Instagram had tested the link stickers in the last few months and, according to its own statements, received a lot of positive feedback from its users. The company is now responding: “Whatever you like, from cooking to volunteering to shopping, you now have a place to share in stories – regardless of the size of your account,” says Instagram.

However, accounts that were created less than 30 days ago or have repeatedly violated community guidelines should not initially have access to the link sticker. This is intended to prevent misuse and contain the spread of harmful content on the platform.
