Alexia’s parents to publish a book

The parents of Alexia, killed in 2017 by her husband Jonathann Daval, publish their testimony on this highly publicized affair in October, publisher Robert Laffont announced on Wednesday. Alexia, our daughter, Isabelle and Jean-Pierre Fouillot, written with the journalist and television producer Thomas Chagnaud, must be published on October 28.

“It’s been four years since she was killed by the one who promised to love her. Since then, we no longer live. We survive ”, say the parents in the presentation of the book. The editor promises “an incredible scenario which is told to us from the inside, as close as possible to the killer, by all those who surrounded him during these long evenings of lies, pain and manipulation”.

Jonathann Daval was sentenced to twenty-five years in prison

The partially charred body of Alexia Daval, 29, was found in October 2017 in a wood near her home in Gray-la-Ville (Haute-Saône), two days after her husband Jonathann reported her disappearance. After showing the face of a grieving widower for three months, he was confused by investigators after careful investigations. He was sentenced in November 2020 to 25 years in prison.

The many twists and turns in this affair sparked intense media coverage amid the #MeToo wave. During this time, Alexia’s parents sometimes felt that their daughter’s personality was being portrayed inaccurately.
