A new face will come in Succession. According to Variety, Alexander Skarsgard was recruited to play one of the main roles of the third season of the HBO series, which has established itself in just two years as one of the biggest critical boxes of the American chain.

The actor will play Lukas Mattson, the CEO of a high-tech company who will not hesitate to oppose Logan Roy (Brian Cox), the character at the heart of Succession, since as its name suggests, the series revolves around the shenanigans of an American family at the time when the succession of the boss of one of the largest American media conglomerates is being organized.

Always after Variety, the third season promises to be even more exciting than the first two: the tension within the Roy family is at its height and threatens to turn into a “family civil war”.

Every time

Delayed due to the pandemic, the filming of season 3 of Succession was originally scheduled to start early last year. It was therefore not until the health situation calmed down to resume work, and the team is filming in New York, for a broadcast, probably next year.

Alexander Skarsgard, who recently starred in the blockbuster Godzilla vs Kong, is a regular at HBO’s dramatic comedies. The actor had won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe for his role in the first season of Big Little Lies. He had also previously been the star of Generation Kill as well as True Blood, one of the cult series of the pay channel.

Succession had already won several awards last year, including winning at the Emmy Awards and Golden Globes in the category Best Dramatic Series.
