Such a drug is now being tested on patients for the first time in China and the USA. Behind it is the Canadian scientist Alex Zhavoronkov with his company Insilico Medicine. The Latvian-born Canadian is not just a pharma pioneer. He’s also a defender of China, saying the trade war with the US that threatens its industry “could take more lives than the war in Ukraine.”
