Transgender model Alex Mariah Peter posted a special picture on Instagram. The photo shows her as a 16-year-old boy.
Alex Mariah Peter (24), “GNTM” winner of 2021, has at Instagram published a special picture. “You guys have been wanting to see a picture of me before I transitioned for so long,” the transgender model captioned a photo of her as a teenage boy.
In her Instagram story she explains why she decided to publish the picture. “I’m comfortable showing an image from before. I don’t identify with it anymore. I don’t see myself there.” She also knows that this will get her attention “and then people will listen”. She just had a “negative experience” in which she was insulted. She then went into discourse with the person and found that there was still a lot of “need to talk”. She wants to enlighten and help other trans people.
The realization that she was a woman was not an aha moment, but a “creeping process” that was very difficult for her. She did not want to tell the followers what gender reassignment measures she had taken. She doesn’t want to give any guidelines for other transgender people, everyone has to decide for themselves whether and which operations to have. She wants to answer further questions from her followers in a “Q&A” over the next few days.
“Always Beautiful”
She is a self-confident person, but sharing the picture with her fans will give her a little more “self-acceptance”, the model concludes. “Because I don’t want to lie, there are days when I’m embarrassed to be trans and that’s okay too.” The important thing is to remember “there is nothing to be ashamed of”.
She has already received numerous compliments in the comment column for the Instagram picture. “Always beautiful,” writes entertainer Riccardo Simonetti (29). “Love, love, love” is Stefanie Giesinger’s (25) comment. “Oh Alex, my heart warms up when I see this picture and read your text,” explains moderator Marlene Lufen (51). Influencer Farina Opoku writes: “It’s so crazy when I think back to having met you like that. For me you were and somehow always are who you are. Love you either way.”
