Halyna Hutchins’ husband Matthew enlisted the help of a law firm. The widower will most likely sue – it is not yet known who the suit will be directed against.
A good two weeks after the death of his wife, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, Matthew Hutchins hired a law firm to handle the case.
Halyna Hutchins’ husband hires a law firm
As the gossip portal “TMZ” reports, he has hired a law firm in Los Angeles that specializes in personal injury and negligent homicide. It is not yet known who Hutchins will sue. However, the magazine reports that his lawsuit will be directed against several parties.
In the past two weeks, the coverage of the tragic incident on the set of the western “Rust” was also about the question of guilt. There is little doubt that it was an accident. And yet it is possible that the location was negligent.
Several key figures
The focus here is on several key figures. One is weapons master Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who says herself that she has always handled weapons responsibly. But as the person in charge, she has the greatest responsibility when it comes to who picks up pistols and how the dangerous props are handled. Gutierrez-Reed is accused of not having had enough experience at the age of 24 to hold such an important position.
Assistant director Dave Halls also plays an important role. It was he who put the loaded gun in Baldwin’s hand and told him it was “cold”. The experienced filmmaker has already admitted his mistake in not checking the pistol.
But Hutchins’ lawsuit could also be directed against the production as a whole. Several insiders reported a lack of security and savings in the wrong place after the accident. Alec Baldwin himself could also be sued as a producer.
As “TMZ” reports, the insurance policy of the “Rust” production amounts to six million dollars. Should director Joel Souza, who was hit in the shoulder, also file a lawsuit, the damages could be far more than that.
