After his tragic death shot on the film set, Alec Baldwin was reported by the script overseer. The actor also gets headwind from his colleague George Clooney.

A month ago cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was fatally shot on the set of the western “Rust”. The gun was fired by actor Alec Baldwin, who wrongly assumed that the revolver was not loaded.

The incident could have legal consequences for Baldwin: Several proceedings have already been brought against the actor and director of the film. Now the script supervisor Mamie Mitchell has also filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles.

Mitchell, who had called the emergency services at the time, complained that safety precautions were disregarded on the set. Live ammunition had nothing to do with the location, and Baldwin also failed to check the weapon that was handed in.

The 63-year-old is also threatened with hardship from other sources. While he has so far been seen by large parts of the public as the victim of unfortunate chains, the picture is currently turning a bit.

Now his professional colleague George Clooney has also issued explicit criticism. In the “WTF With Marc Maron” podcast, the Oscar winner said he looked at the gun on set “every single time” when it was handed over to him. He opens it up, shows it to the person he is supposed to aim at and also to the crew, according to Clooney.

Prepared weapons can hardly be distinguished from sharp weapons on the set – that’s why he checks twice and three times. If he was given a pistol, he would aim it at the ground and pull the trigger six times. Not to do that is “just insane”.

One statement could be particularly problematic for Baldwin. So far it has been said that the actor received the gun from assistant director Dave Halls, who handed it to him with the words “Cold Gun”. What is understood in the industry as a reference to blank cartridges.

George Clooney now claims on the podcast that he was unfamiliar with this phrase: “I’ve never heard of the term ‘cold gun’!” He said.

This is not good news for Baldwin. The legal and financial consequences of the accident cannot yet be foreseen – and his reputation is now threatened with damage. The coming months are likely to be uncomfortable for Alec Baldwin.
