During a school trip, seven students bought two bottles of vodka. They were caught and had to return home. A court has now decided who has to pay the extra costs.

Parents can be asked to pay if their offspring is on one Buys alcohol illegally on a school trip and has to go home because of it. This was decided by the Berlin Administrative Court, as a spokesman announced.

The state of Berlin has successfully sued the mother of a student. According to the court, she initially refused to pay 143.60 euros – even though she had agreed in advance of a school trip to cover the costs if she returned home early.

In this specific case, it was about the trip of a tenth grade class from a Berlin high school to Munich in June 2022. During the trip, a total of seven students, including the woman’s son, bought two bottles of vodka.

They were caught and banned from the trip. There were then corresponding costs for the journey home. After the country successfully sued, the court decision has now become legally binding, as it was said.
