They show up with their twins at a traditional picnic

The traditional picnic “U Cavagnëtu” provides beautiful pictures from Monaco: Prince Albert and Princess Charlène seem to be really enjoying the time with their children.

The Monegasque royal court is always making headlines. Often enough, however, discord mixes with what is actually good news. The most recent example was a TV appearance by Princess Charlène (45) with her husband, during which she switched from French to English. There was then immediate talk of undignified behavior on social media.

You can see the twins’ cute appearance in the video above.

Harsh words against the princess are not an isolated case. They even accompanied her recovery process after being unable to return to Monaco from her old homeland of South Africa for months in 2021 due to health reasons. At that time, their children Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella (both 8) could not see each other for a long time, which makes the beautiful picture of the palace on Instagram even more valuable today.

Another separation is imminent, but only for a few days

But it’s not just the look into the past that plays a role in the meaning of the recordings. In just a few days, Albert & Charlène from Monaco will have to leave the twins alone again, even if only for a short time. The couple travels to South Africa, where the 5th “Water Bike Challenge” is taking place.

For Charlène, whose foundation is leading the charge here, it is a project close to her heart. Even for Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella it might be a worthwhile event, the duty alone prevents the possible trip: Both have to go back to school after the end of the summer holidays.

Festival for families: the traditional picnic “U Cavagnëtu”

The traditional picnic “U Cavagnëtu” takes place annually, but was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to Corona. Perhaps more appropriate than the term picnic would be to speak of an open-air event for families. There is, among other things, an open-air fair and stands offering Monegasque specialties. The term “picnic” comes from the fact that many families have packed lunches as part of their equipment. “U Cavagnëtu” also marks the end of the holidays for school children.
