Newborn baby exposed in cardboard box – mother leaves moving message with baby’s name

A newborn baby was found in a cardboard box at an intersection in Fairbanks, Alaska. The child was probably abandoned out of desperation. According to the police, it is doing fine.

“Please help me!” So begins the heartbreaking news of a mother who apparently abandoned her newborn baby out of desperation on New Year’s Eve. The baby was found in a cardboard box at an intersection in Fairbanks, Alaska, and was taken to hospital.
Woman finds baby next to her house
Resident Roxy Lane said in a Facebook post on Friday evening that she had discovered the baby. “Today I found an abandoned newborn in a cardboard box on the mailboxes next to my house,” she writes. “I processed my feelings all day and thought about how something like this could happen.”
The police confirmed that they had received a corresponding report on New Year’s Eve at around 2 p.m. “The child was alive and appeared to have been abandoned there shortly before,” said a statement. “A note left next to the infant indicates that the parents cannot take care of him.”
Child was evidently a premature baby
The note, which must have been written by the newborn’s mother, says: “I was born today, December 31, 2021, at 6 a.m. I was born twelve weeks early. My mother was in the Week 28. My parents and grandparents have no food or money to raise me. They never wanted to do this to me. ”
The message closes with the words: “Please take me with you and find a loving family for me. Whoever finds me – my parents are begging for it. My name is Teshawn.” According to police, the baby is fine.
Alaska: Child presumably abandoned out of desperation
Roxy Lane claims to have to process the experience first, but is also concerned about how desperate the mother must be. “There is always a safer and more humane way to deliver a baby,” she writes on Facebook. “I hope the mother gets the help she needs. She could find herself in a desperate situation.” Anyone who knows the woman should take care of her urgently.
Mother names the newborn baby – a sign of love?
“Obviously, someone in our community felt so lost that they made the hardest decision of their life to leave this innocent child on the side of the road with nothing but a few blankets and a name,” writes the Fairbanks woman. She sees the fact that the mother mentioned the boy’s name as a small sign of hope. “Even if she has made a terrible decision, there is still some love to be felt.”
Roxy Lane closes her emotional message with the words: “Today I saved a baby and I will probably think of Teshawn for the rest of my life.”
