With her first film role in “Licorice Pizza”, Alana Haim is already considered a candidate for an Oscar. In an interview, she reveals how it felt for her to suddenly be in front of the camera – together with Hollywood greats like Sean Penn or Bradley Cooper.

Alana Haim plays in the indie rock band together with her older sisters Danielle and Este Haim. The 30-year-old has been successful as a guitarist and keyboardist for over a decade. The band’s last album (“Women in Music, Pt. III”) was released in 2020. Star director Paul Thomas Anderson (“There Will Be Blood”, “Boogie Nights”) has now discovered Alana Haim as an actress. In the wonderful comedy “Licorice Pizza” (theatrical release on January 27) she plays the leading role: a young woman who is hit on by a cheeky schoolboy and experiences all sorts of bizarre adventures with him in over-the-top Los Angeles in the 1970s.
