Greetings from New York, far from the bizarre world where the Bank of England is an “enemy of growth” and freedom feels like slavery. For me, America is currently primarily a country of fresh food. I really missed fresh food. For the UK political class, America is the land of glamor and limousines, big money and torture chambers with export potential. When Britain was the sick man of Europe, America bombed Vietnam and supported Pinochet’s atrocities.
