A change is pending in the wanted program “Aktenzeichen XY… Unsolved”. There will be new spin-off episodes after the upcoming issue.

Presenter Rudi Cerne (64) has been presenting the public investigation program “Aktenzeichen XY… Unsolved” once a month since 2002 in the traditional Wednesday evening slot, 8:15 p.m. live on ZDF. Today, June 14th, it’s that time again. It is also the last issue before new spin-off episodes.

The two consecutive special editions will be moderated by Sven Voss (46), who already celebrated his debut in the summer of 2022 with the first season of the True Crime series. At that time, the four 45-minute episodes were each shown on Friday evenings, now there are two double episodes in prime time. In “XY Solved: Murderous Conflicts” (July 5) and “XY Solved: Blurred Tracks” (July 12), Voss presents the exciting reconstructions of solved “XY” criminal cases.

The next regular “Aktenzeichen XY… Unsolved” episode with Rudi Cerne will be broadcast live on July 26 at 8:15 p.m.

What can viewers expect from the show on June 14?

Back to the latest “Aktenzeichen XY… Unsolved” issue, in which, among other things, an XY prize contender is presented. This time it’s about a parcel carrier who has shown civil courage: “A parcel carrier witnesses a horrific knife attack. He takes the victim to safety, calls for help and stops the perpetrator. He’s now nominated for the XY Prize 2023 for that,” it says from the transmitter.

During the year, the candidates for the XY Prize 2023 presents. Then an expert jury decides. In autumn, the “XY Prize – Together Against Crime”, which is endowed three times with 10,000 euros each, will be awarded again. The award was established in 2002.

According to the broadcaster’s announcement, the June issue also deals with these three crimes:

Shot in the basement: A family goes on a trip together. Only the 52-year-old father stays at home – and becomes the victim of a cold-blooded crime… Mysterious murder: the body of a teenager is discovered in the woods. A motive for the bloody deed cannot be found. The crime scene also raises many questions… The dead person next to the freeway: a couple finds the badly decomposed remains of an unknown woman. Even 37 years later, the police still do not know the name of the victim…

BKA campaign “Identify me”

The latter case is the second case of the BKA campaign “Identify me”. The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) launched the international campaign into the murders of unknown women together with the Dutch police DJO (Centrale directie Gemeinelijke operaties) and the Belgian police PDC (Politie Diensten Centrum). A cross-border search is being carried out for 22 murders involving unknown female victims. The dead women should be identified and their names should be given back – that is the main goal of the action.

“Aktenzeichen XY… Unsolved” will be available in the ZDF media library after the broadcast.
