Airplane window bursts on approach – incident in the video

Watch the video: Shocking passenger video – plane window bursts on approach.

Big shock: On a flight from Warsaw to New York, the pane of a window bursts.

During the landing approach at John F. Kennedy Airport, an incident occurs that a passenger records on video.

Passengers hastily leave their seats. The reason: Significant cracks have formed in a window on the plane.

A flight attendant then comes to check on everything.

But the passengers on the flight of the Polish airline LOT are still nervous – until a security announcement comes: “Ladies and gentlemen, please sit down and buckle up.”

Then calm returns – and the plane lands safely at the destination airport a little later.

But the excitement about the window was unfounded: an airplane window consists of three panes. Only the outermost part is exposed to the pressure load.

The second comes with a little distance. There is a small hole in this, which is also visible to passengers. This hole serves as a bleed valve to keep the pressure between the discs balanced. In this way, it ensures that the panes do not break as the altitude and pressure difference increase.

If the window on the passenger’s side breaks, there is no danger. It only serves to protect the middle pane from damage.
