For a long time it looked as if 2023 could be the best year in the history of MTU Aero Engines. The Munich aircraft engine manufacturer benefited from the high growth in air traffic, new business and demand for maintenance. But things turned out differently: the year was actually the worst so far – for the first time ever, MTU had to report a loss (97 million euros). The reprocessing is in full swing and is putting the partnership with the US group Pratt & Whitney to a tough test.
